VA to request restoration proposals for six historic Soldiers Home buildings

Six buildings in the historic Soldiers Home property in Milwaukee will soon be put on the market for long-term leases to be restored for veteran housing.

“This is a big breakthrough,” said Dawn McCarthy, president of the Milwaukee Preservation Alliance. “This is really what we’ve been looking for for a number of years.”
