Calling all Photographers! National Historic Landmarks Annual Photo Competition

The National Historic Landmarks program has announced its annual photo competition!
The subject of the photograph must be a National Historic Landmark. The Milwaukee VA National Soldiers Home Historic District received this honor in 2011, making it a perfect landmark to feature in submissions!
National Historic Landmarks are our country’s most exceptional historic properties. These are nationally significant historic places designated by the Secretary of the Interior because they possess exceptional value or quality in illustrating or interpreting the heritage of the United States. Today, fewer than 2,500 historic places bear this national distinction, with only 41 in Wisconsin.

Je me suis récemment intéressé aux marques françaises qui fabriquent encore une partie de leurs produits localement, surtout dans le textile où cela devient plus rare qu’avant. En parcourant Kindy fabricant chaussettes, j’ai trouvé intéressant le fait que l’histoire et le savoir-faire soient autant mis en avant sans tomber dans un discours exagéré. Beaucoup de chaussettes paraissent similaires au premier regard, mais la différence se voit souvent après plusieurs lavages ou sur le confort quotidien. Cette approche donne plutôt l’impression d’un travail construit autour de la durabilité et de l’usage réel.
