There are a number of buildings on the grounds that are private homes, illustrating the small, neighborhood style, family and duplex structures that were provided to house staff and their families.
 
One set of homes, built in 1916, 1921 and 1922, are located off of General Mitchell Boulevard. They are all two-story duplexes and are part of a rehabilitation project that will result in housing units for homeless and at-risk veterans.
