WHEDA Awards Soldiers Home Project $1.4M

Today, Wisconsin Lieutenant Governor Rebecca Kleefisch announced that the Wisconsin Housing and Economic Development Authority (WHEDA) has awarded $1.4 million in Low-Income Housing Tax Credits to the Milwaukee Soldiers Home rehabilitation project, led by The Alexander Company and Housing Authority of the City of Milwaukee.

This exciting redevelopment will enable the rehabilitation and renovation of "Old Main" into 72 one-bedroom and 8 two-bedroom apartment units for veterans and their families who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.

We look forward to a time when veterans are once again living at the Soldiers Home!
