Waukesha Freeman: Iraqi War Veteran Donates 135 Frozen Meals to Salvation Army

‘Dinner’s on me’

By Troy Laack Freeman Staff

WAUKESHA – Iraqi war veteran Gest Wangsness filled a grocery cart with frozen dinners Friday that he promptly donated to the Salvation Army to help his fellow comrades and to bring about more awareness of the plight of homeless veterans.

“One thing I learned while I was a soldier is once a soldier, always a soldier and I still live by the Army values – I’ll never quit, I’ll never accept defeat, I’ll never leave a fallen comrade and I think the homeless veterans are comrades too,” Wangsness said.
